Celestial Echoes: The Awakening of Thirugnanasambandar

In tranquil waters, a father immersed,

His soul sought solace, holy and pure.

A three-year-old played on the sacred shore,

Unaware of the path he was destined to explore.

From the depths of devotion, a cry arose,

The child yearned for his parents, who he supposed.

To his aid, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi drew near,

Embracing the child, allaying his fear.

Goddess Parvathi, with tender care,

Nurtured the child with love so rare.

She cradled him close, her divine presence bestowed,

As celestial milk from her sacred vessel flowed.

Father emerged from the pond, eyes filled with unrest,

A sense of unease stirred within his chest.

Witnessing the milk upon his child’s lips,

Inquiringly, he questioned, his patience at its grips.

Then the little one, with innocence divine,

Sang a celestial verse, his voice intertwining with time.

“Thodudaiya Seviyan,” the lyrics began,

Praising the one with adorned ears, the Lord’s eternal plan.

Thus, a spiritual journey commenced that day,

As Thirugnanasambandar found his way.

Enlightened by the divine intervention bestowed,

His heart and soul forever intertwined with God’s ode.

The poem is the first of many to Lord Shiva dedicate

Of a child chosen to illuminate mankind’s state.

Young Thirugnanasambandar, the saintly seer,

Guiding humanity with a message so clear.

Listen to Thodudaiya Seviyan Thevaram with meaning.
