The Day We Built a Website in 8 Hours — And Nailed It

Having started our Digital Marketing journey way back in 2004, when anything digital was still in its nascent stage, it has been a truly exciting ride — filled with immense learning, a fair share of highs and lows, and unforgettable moments of inspiration and ingenuity. Over the years, we’ve encountered all kinds of challenges and clients — big and small, detailed and vague, urgent and planned. And we’ve grown with each one.
Today marks the incorporation anniversary of LBN Tech, and my mind can’t help but wander back to one particularly frenetic, adrenaline-pumped day. It must’ve been around 2006. One of our early clients from the San Francisco Bay Area had just signed up with us — Philomenas Audio Waves. She was preparing for a trade show and needed a fully functional website — within 12 hours. Just like that.
I still remember the brief — or the lack of it. A few lines of pointers, almost like bullet scribbles, and we had to stitch together a 6-page website, complete with Services, About, Contact, and the works. Those were pre-ChatGPT days (a whole different era!) and we didn’t yet have an in-house team of writers to call upon. It was just us — quick, lean, and hands-on.
At 9 AM, the request dropped in. R, our designer, jumped straight into the layout while I took on the content — page after page, shaping it out of thin air with only those pointers and some frantic online research to go by. It was a full-on creative sprint. As the words took form, I sent them over in chunks to R, who plugged them in with visuals and structure. In parallel, V and S double-checked each page as it was being built, while D managed the FTP uploads, making sure every update was live for the team to review. This was back in the good old HTML days — no WordPress, no drag-and-drop, everything coded and crafted by hand.
And then there was Indu, our CEO/Founder, based in Saratoga, CA, already wide awake at 4 am (her time), pinging us every hour for updates. Philomena, the client was counting on us — her entire product showcase at the trade fair depended on this site being up.
Thankfully the server team had done their job to perfection — no hiccups there. By 5 PM, just eight hours in, the full website was up — all six pages live and fully functional.
The client was thrilled. We were exhausted but exhilarated. That evening, we all took a break and rewarded ourselves with a well-deserved ice cream — small joys after a big day.
This story is just one among many, but it’s always been a reminder: LBN Tech can work well under pressure. We always have. And that spirit — of dedication, collaboration, and just getting it done — continues to drive us even today.
